they just put (like before) the new features in the higher-priced, bulky version. as it turns out, a lot of the new features in indesign 12 don’t add any more features, or just add placeholder ones.
indesign 12’s increase in file size has also got my nervous. You can use the free adobe reader 11.0.1 update that you’ll find inside the indesign installer to fix some of indesign 12’s most annoying indesign 12’s most annoying bugs.
if you’re unsure what your version is, visit this page to download a free checker app. you must also update your indesign’s version to at least indesign cc 2014 or later. you have six months to upgrade, after which time you will lose access to your indesign desktop publishing skills.
